This is a picture of Murray with two of his cousins, Disco (a havanese) and Oscar (a shepherd mix). They were a bit of a handful trying to get them to pose for this picture. Thank goodness for photo-editing software (*smile*).
Earlier in the evening, it was a real doggie party, as there was one more cousin there named Charlie (a lhasa apso), and the three little ones were so close in size and coloring that I was afraid I was gonna take the wrong dog home. They all got along rather well, but I have to say, people who have more than two dogs living with them at one time really have to be a little nutty, especially if they are full of energy, like these guys can be.
I wonder how many other families bring their dogs along to visit their family members. We mainly do it when we meet up at Mom's house. I might have started the tradition when I first moved out of my parents' house and adopted a cat named Sunny. I used to bring him and his litter box with me, mostly because I felt guilty leaving him alone after already working an 8-hour day. That only lasted a short while, as I eventually adopted a kitty companion for him. Later on, though, I adopted a puppy named Brandy and started taking her with me to Mom & Pop's, and it's been that way with every new addition to our family ever since. The dogs look forward to playing with each other, but they like going home for some rest afterwards too. As do we...lol.

That is the best picture! I had no idea that they all looked at you at the same time.
Yes, isn't it? It helped that Christine was there calling them too. I especially love that all their tongues are hanging out from so much running around.
The "cousins" look so happy and loved!
Don't forget 'spoiled' :)
They really do seem happy, and I think the doggie play dates help. Maybe that's why we're seeing more doggie daycare places popping up, because they really are social animals, and hanging out together helps with their socialization skills, not just with other dogs, but with humans as well.
great picture :) I want to bring my dog over to play. He sure does miss that. It may be to long since his last play date with Oscar for them to play like the little angels that they are.
texasgal,
That surely would be interesting to see. Remind me to keep my dog home that day...he likes to play rough, but with diesel, he may bite off more than he can chew...lol.
p.s.,
Mom's gonna have to move to a farm if the number of dogs visiting her and Oscar keep growing the way they are...lol
well when I come back I am going to try to get a little land maybe I will put up a big pen to put all of the dogs in.
texasgal,
I'm not sure that's a good idea...all is not always harmoneous. Oscar's fur was actually standing up the other day. Think he got tired of the 2 dogs going after him and the stick...lol
