on the road again
pics from this week
Murray chasing after his cousin Oscar:
They run in circles so fast sometimes that I wind up dizzy. Yesterday, for the first time, I let Murray run loose off the leash in Oscar's backyard to give him the freedom to go further than the 16 feet his leash allows. Luckily, no squirrels, people, or other creatures happened by to test his obedience training :)
Oscar and Murray playing cat and mouse:

The knock that never came:

I'm gonna catch that rascally rabbit yet!

rural exploring
Murray is really great in the car. He usually stays in the back seat with an occasional peek between the two front seats. His favorite spot, however, is sticking his head out the side window and catching the wind.
Murray's a perfect companion for the long car rides I like going on. And so it was that I took him along for one of my favorite things to do as of late...find abandoned buildings and take pictures of them, better known as rural ruins by those that do this sorta thing for fun. A friend of mine turned me onto it.
There's an element of risk to it, because technically most of these places are private property and you could get in trouble with the law, but that risk gives you a certain thrill, like maybe you're getting away with something that's a little naughty.
In addition to that kind of risk, being a lone female, there's also the risk that someone could sneak up on you in what usually is a deserted area. That's where Murray comes in handy, because he's like my own personal alarm system.
So, off we went, back to a spot I've been to before, an abandoned barn-like structure, with a now empty house and outbuildings next door. Here are some of the pictures I took while there (click 'em to big 'em):

On the way home, we did encounter someone who Murray really didn't like the looks of and kept barking at...

maybe i should be afraid to close my eyes at night
Does Murray look possessed in this picture or what?

I took it right after I trimmed the hair around his eyes, and I don't think he was too happy about it. Well, actually, I know he wasn't. He wouldn't sit still the entire time. I'm amazed I didn't poke his eyes out with the scissors. Some things are best left to the professionals...lol.
Sorry I haven't posted for awhile, but my batteries died on my camera, and I just got around to getting some more. And really, this blog would get even more boring if I didn't post the pictures along with the commentary. I'm sure you were already thinking that...lol.
We (Murray and I) recently went rural exploring, so I'll be posting those pics later for your viewing enjoyment :)

the answer to the question...
...is Murray ready to be left out of his crate with no supervision?

And poor puppy paid the price.
Murray was being so good last night and seemed to be as tired as me, so I made the mistake of thinking he could be trusted when I was asleep and left him out of his crate. Wrong. Puppy may or may not be salvageable, but I'm gonna try and do what all mothers do with their child's favorite toy...sew him back up.
